Delhi Nursery Admissions 2021: Important Dates

The schedule for Nursery Admissions in Delhi for the year 2021 is out. The nursery admissions for the upcoming academic sessions 2021-22 are set to begin from 18th February 2021, as per the official schedule released by the Directorate of Education in Delhi.

As stated earlier, the admissions process is completely online due to the ongoing pandemic. Private schools in Delhi have also been asked to submit the admissions details by 15^th February to the Education Department. Parents can enrol their kids in KG, Class 1 as well as nurseries in private schools across Delhi. The estimated number of schools that will commence nursery admissions in Delhi is close to 1700. Please note, the last date to submit application forms for admissions into any of these three classes in private schools of Delhi is 4^th March, 2021. The child must be of four years of age for nursery, five years for KG and must be less than six years of age for Class 1 by 31^st March, 2021.

The Process of Admission to Nursery Classes in Delhi Schools

The process of admission to nursery classes in Delhi schools was delayed this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Generally, every year, the admission process starts in the last week of November or December and continued till January. Some people were of the view that the Delhi government would scrap the admission process for nursery classes altogether, but this was just speculation. The government has stated that the classes for students will be conducted online initially keeping in view, the pandemic situation. This step is meant to prioritise the safety of children until the pandemic is well-controlled.
