Established in the year 1981, Darbari Lal DAV Model School has evolved as an ideal progressive quality institution blending the best of modernity with the best of tradition. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education and is a National Progressive Schools Conference member. It is managed by the DAV College Managing Committee. It is a co-educational school with English as a medium of instruction and has an active PTA body. Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati – saint, social reformer, educationist, and visionary founded Arya Samaj in 1875, He realized that the salvation of the country lay in educating the masses. A group of socially oriented people formed the Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Trust and Management Society to achieve this cherished goal. This was the beginning of the DAV Movement which laid the foundation of the present vast network of DAV Institutions. Mahatma Hansraj, the Headmaster of the first DAV school that opened in Lahore in 1886, was an apostle of simplicity, honesty, and integrity – the legacy that we carry on.

An Immortal Educationist and Visionary:- Shri Darbari Lal Ji is an immortal educationist and a visionary. Words can not describe or do justice to the greatness and wisdom of this great man. He still, like a sweet melody flows through all the D.A.V. its, the music of his intellect still reverberates long after it is heard no more. We take great pride in the fact that we were founded by the auspicious hands of this great man and saw year after year of success with his blessing. But “St. Luke was a saint and a physician and yet he died” so did he. He sailed into the spiritual world on the 16th of May 1995, mingling himself with the holy as that is where he belonged. People come and people go but it is persons like Shri. Darbari Lal Ji who left behind such a void. We the D.A.V. Pusphajanli family pay our humble and respectful homage to his saintly, Personality and promise to take his aspiration forward on the path of success. He will be remembered for all the actions he took and the worthwhile work he did.
